Library & Records Technology Assistant, Legal Info Systems
Overview
You will own daily library operations and records system administration at Morris James LLP. You will split time between supporting legal research access and rolling out a new records management platform. You will work with Aderant, iManage, and court systems. This role builds expertise in both legal research and records technology, with clear room to grow into specialized roles.
What You'll Do8
- 1Manage attorney and staff access to legal research platforms and court systems, including troubleshooting access issues.
- 2Maintain library materials, filing updates, loose-leaf services, and legislative materials, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- 3Track and distribute court opinions, regulations, and legislative updates via iManage and other tools.
- 4Retrieve court filings, dockets, pleadings, and transcripts from subscription databases and court portals.
- 5Update the library catalog and process interlibrary loan requests with external partners.
- 6Support the rollout of the new records management software, including testing, data validation, and user training.
- 7Assist with litigation hold processes and records-related research requests using the records system.
- 8Prepare user guides and process documentation for records and library workflows.
Requirements7
- 1Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 22+ years in a law firm, library, or records management environment (preferred).
- 3Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.
- 4Experience with Aderant, iManage, or other document management systems (preferred).
- 5Familiarity with legal research platforms and court filing systems.
- 6Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for managing multiple priorities.
- 7Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
