Legal File Clerk Records & Information Coordinator
Overview
The Legal File Clerk / Records & Information Coordinator will own the management of physical and electronic client files within a fast‑paced professional environment. This role supports attorneys and paralegals by ensuring accurate organization retrieval and secure handling of legal documents.
What You'll Do14
- 1Maintain accurate physical and electronic client and matter files
- 2File scan organize retrieve and distribute legal documents and records
- 3Create and maintain electronic folders and matter workspaces
- 4Assist attorneys paralegals and staff locate and retrieve files
- 5Maintain organized file rooms work rooms and office files
- 6Prepare closed matters for off‑site storage and retrieve archived files
- 7Assist with file transfers to clients other law firms and outside parties
- 8Support file closing retention and destruction procedures
- 9Support document and records management systems
- 10Answer basic questions about document organization searches and file requests
- 11Identify and report system issues to the appropriate department
- 12Coordinate with off‑site storage and document destruction vendors
- 13Process scanning shredding and other records related projects
- 14Provide backup support and assist with special projects as needed
Requirements6
- 12+ years experience in a law firm legal department or professional services environment
- 2Strong work ethic and dependable team‑oriented attitude
- 3Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- 4Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- 5Proficient with Microsoft Office
- 6Experience with iManage Work iManage Records Manager Juris or similar legal document management systems
