Overview
You own end-to-end functional and regression testing for lending systems at a multiyear contract with a major financial client. You join a QA team of five analysts embedded with developers and product owners. You shape test strategy from day one, working hybrid onsite in Vienna, VA, 3 days a week. What You'll Do8
- 1Build test plans and test cases for lending workflows using SQL and JIRA to cover functional and regression scenarios.
- 2Execute manual test scripts for loan origination, underwriting, and servicing modules, documenting results in ALM.
- 3Debug defects by reproducing issues, isolating root causes, and retesting fixes across environments.
- 4Lead test data preparation, masking sensitive fields per compliance standards using SQL queries.
- 5Drive requirements analysis sessions with business analysts to map test cases to user stories.
- 6Design regression test suites that run after each release, prioritizing high-risk areas in lending.
- 7Track defect metrics and report daily status to QA lead using JIRA dashboards.
- 8Coordinate with developers to resolve environment issues and ensure test readiness for sprint demos.
Requirements8
- 12-5 years of hands-on QA/testing experience in banking or financial services.
- 2Proven track record in functional and regression testing of lending systems (loan origination, servicing).
- 3Hands-on SQL skills for querying databases and preparing test data.
- 4Experience with test management tools (JIRA, ALM, or Quality Center).
- 5Strong defect management practice using bug tracking workflows in JIRA.
- 6Solid understanding of requirements analysis and traceability to test cases.
- 7Ability to write clear, concise test cases and execute them systematically.
