Overview
Legal Assistant in a busy litigation practice supports attorneys in a fast paced environment and helps manage multiple deadlines across state, federal, and appellate courts. You will prepare and finalize legal documents, manage electronic and physical files, and coordinate meetings and travel. This role blends administrative excellence with legal workflow support and room to grow within a respected firm.
What You'll Do9
- 1Build and finalize legal correspondence and pleadings ensuring accuracy and adherence to court formatting standards
- 2Manage electronic filing and service of documents in state, federal, and appellate courts nationwide
- 3Maintain litigation calendars and deadlines including scheduling orders and briefing timelines
- 4Organize client files, pleadings, and supporting documentation in electronic and physical formats
- 5Review and edit time entries, assist with client billing activities
- 6Coordinate attorney and client meetings, depositions, and travel arrangements
- 7Provide general administrative and legal support including calendar management and routine correspondence
- 8Assist with document conversions, PDF manipulation, scanning, and e file management
- 9Support team with document review and proofreading to ensure highest quality output
Requirements10
- 12+ years of litigation support or a similar role in a law firm
- 2Strong proofreading, grammar, and document formatting skills
- 3Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- 4Experience providing administrative support in a professional environment
- 5Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast paced setting
- 6Familiarity with e filing in state and federal courts is preferred
- 7Experience with iManage and InTapp software is a plus
- 8Excellent client service and communication skills
- 9Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- 10Discretion handling confidential information
