Legal Assistant, Law Firm Support Columbus
Overview
You will provide administrative support to 5-9 attorneys in a specific practice group, preparing practice-specific forms and managing court e-filings. You'll handle document preparation, file updates, calendar management, and delegation across departments. This role supports a fast-paced legal environment with a minimum of 3 years' experience required. You'll work on-site in Columbus, Ohio, with a competitive pay scale of $30.00–$41.54 per hour.
What You'll Do9
- 1Prepare practice-specific documents, paper court filings, and e-filings using MS Word and Intapp Flow.
- 2Update electronic and hard copy files, including pleading, correspondence, and closing folders, and proofread documents for accuracy.
- 3Delegate tasks to appropriate team members based on workload and priority, ensuring timely completion of assignments.
- 4Schedule and calendar meetings and deadlines for attorneys, and manage incoming and outgoing mail.
- 5Open new files, request conflict of interest checks, maintain client files, and prepare files for closure.
- 6Review proforma reports and make electronic revisions using Chrome River and iManage/Work 10.
- 7Receive clients and visitors, maintaining high standards of professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions.
- 8Keep attorney coverage notes and special processes updated in MS OneNote.
- 9Assist other legal assistants and attorneys as needed, supporting the Document Services Center and training manager.
Requirements10
- 13+ years of experience in a similar field, with law firm experience preferred.
- 2Excellent spelling and proofreading skills.
- 3Intermediate Microsoft Word skills.
- 4Typing speed of 45+ wpm.
- 5Knowledge of court filing procedures, including electronic filing.
- 6Ability to organize, prioritize, and produce quality work under deadlines.
- 7Effective delegation and collaboration skills.
- 8Strong interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written.
- 9Adaptable to changing demands from multiple attorneys.
- 10Experience with MS Excel, Intapp Flow, iManage/Work 10, Chrome River, and MS OneNote preferred.
Salary Insight
$62 - $85k per year
