
Learning Content Editor, Instructional Design & Print Production
Overview
As the final editorial gatekeeper for all training products, you will ensure clarity, accuracy, and brand consistency across digital and print learning materials for a national safety nonprofit. You will own the style guide for the Training Product Development team, aligning it with organizational standards while shaping editorial processes. Collaborating with instructional designers and subject matter experts, you will produce publication-ready content that supports the mission to prevent injuries. This role uniquely combines editorial mastery with hands-on print production, from manuscript prep to proof approval, in a remote environment.
What You'll Do6
- 1Serve as final editorial reviewer for all learning content, including eLearning, instructor-led materials, and assessments, editing for grammar, clarity, and learner-appropriate tone.
- 2Own the department style guide, updating and enforcing editorial standards across all modalities, and guiding team members on best practices.
- 3Prepare print manuscripts with precision, ensuring formatting matches design templates and collaborating on layout reviews for pagination and callouts.
- 4Review and approve print proofs, coordinating with internal teams and external vendors to deliver quality final books.
- 5Collaborate with instructional designers, graphic designers, and project managers to maintain content accuracy and meet production deadlines.
- 6Manage editorial timelines and version control, tracking revisions to ensure content integrity through the development lifecycle.
Requirements10
- 1Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Technical Writing, or related field with 4+ years of related experience.
- 2Proven experience editing instructional, educational, or technical learning content.
- 3Strong command of Chicago Manual of Style or similar editorial conventions.
- 4Exceptional attention to detail, maintaining consistency across large volumes of content.
- 5Experience editing across digital, print, and multimedia formats.
- 6Strong organizational and project management skills for coordinating multiple reviews.
- 7Experience in association, nonprofit, or training product environments.
- 8Familiarity with learning design and adult learning concepts.
- 9Experience preparing manuscripts for print, including work with InDesign and proof reviews.
- 10Knowledge of WCAG 2.3 AA accessibility standards for written content.
