Lead Preschool Teacher, Spanish Immersion
Overview
You will lead a Spanish immersion preschool classroom, shaping the daily curriculum for children ages 2-5. You will plan and implement age-appropriate activities that foster social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth, while working alongside a teacher assistant. Your team includes a supportive staff and you will coordinate with parents daily. In this role, you will have the autonomy to design your classroom environment and curriculum, with cross-training across all age groups for professional growth.
What You'll Do10
- 1Design and implement a daily curriculum that promotes children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
- 2Oversee classroom activities, including personal care, hygiene, and learning, while ensuring a clean and safe environment.
- 3Maintain classroom records, portfolios, and checklists, tracking each child's progress.
- 4Communicate daily with parents about their child's progress, and schedule parent-teacher conferences regularly.
- 5Use positive guidance techniques and treat each child with dignity and respect.
- 6Implement family-style meals and snacks, encouraging social interaction.
- 7Ensure safety by handling emergencies and administering CPR/First Aid as needed.
- 8Collaborate with the teacher assistant to plan and implement the daily program, providing supervision and mentorship.
- 9Maintain professional conduct with parents, staff, and visitors, ensuring confidentiality.
- 10Keep educational materials and equipment in good condition, repairing as needed.
Requirements8
- 1Must speak Spanish fluently.
- 2Bachelor's degree in Child Development or Early Childhood Education with 1+ year of supervised teaching experience, or Associate's degree with 2+ years, or CDA with 3+ years, or high school diploma with 4+ years.
- 3Knowledge of children's growth and development, including physical, emotional, social, and cognitive needs.
- 4Ability to lift 50 pounds and physically interact with children (run, jump, demonstrate exercises).
- 5Ability to stand 95% of the workday and bend/stoop to interact at child's level.
- 6CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain).
- 7Previous preschool teaching experience preferred.
- 8Must meet or exceed state licensing requirements for age, education, and experience.
