Overview
You will lead the maintenance team at a 200+ unit apartment community in Los Angeles, owning all repairs, turnovers, and preventative maintenance. You will supervise 4+ staff while working hands-on, coordinating vendors, and ensuring property standards. This role requires HVAC Certification and 3-5 years of lead experience. You will join a culture rooted in honesty, humility, and passion, with a temporary 12-18 month assignment and potential for permanence.
What You'll Do7
- 1Lead the maintenance team, delegating tasks and working hands-on to complete repairs.
- 2Manage and complete work orders, unit turns, and preventative maintenance across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting.
- 3Coordinate vendors, inspections, inventory, and property standards.
- 4Maintain maintenance logs, safety records, and equipment schedules.
- 5Participate in on-call rotation and respond to after-hours emergencies within 30 minutes of the property.
- 6Ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality property operations, meeting performance expectations for timely completion and accurate troubleshooting.
- 7Train and hold team members accountable for productivity and quality.
Requirements8
- 1HVAC Certification required.
- 23-5 years as a Lead Maintenance Technician or 5+ years as a Maintenance Technician at a 200+ unit property.
- 3Proven leadership and supervisory experience managing 4+ staff.
- 4Strong hands-on skills in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, turnovers, and general repairs.
- 5Valid driver's license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation.
- 6High school diploma or equivalent.
- 7Ability to meet physical demands and pass background check and drug/alcohol screening.
- 8Live within 30 minutes of the property for on-call rotation.
