Lead Educator, After School Visual Arts Classes Bay Area
Overview
A-Z Creativity LLC seeks Lead Educators and Associate Educators to teach Visual Arts classes across the Bay Area. This contract role involves 2-3 hour weekly sessions during September-December with potential extensions. Positions require expertise in sewing with machines and on-site work in multiple locations.
What You'll Do11
- 1Maintain material bins stored on-site or at designated storage units
- 2Teach pre-written open-ended visual arts curriculum to children ages 3-4 and 5-9
- 3Ensure child safety and manage classroom behavior
- 4Prepare and organize materials for each session
- 5Follow guided curriculum while allowing student choice
- 6Conduct background check and TB test as required
- 7Collaborate with team to create engaging art experiences
- 8Document student progress and maintain records
- 9Prepare classrooms for next day's activities
- 10Communicate with parents about student achievements
- 11Participate in team meetings and professional development
Requirements11
- 15+ years experience teaching visual arts to young children
- 2Certified in early childhood education or equivalent
- 3Proficiency with sewing machines and textile arts
- 4Strong organizational skills for managing materials
- 5Excellent communication abilities for parent interactions
- 6Physical stamina to lift 35 lbs and stand for extended periods
- 7Experience working independently with preschool age groups
- 8Ability to follow detailed lesson plans
- 9Commitment to fostering creative expression in children
- 10Background check clearance and TB test results
- 11Flexibility to adapt curriculum based on student needs
