Lead Automotive Technician, ASE Certified Mechanic
Overview
You will own the repair bay at a Christian Brothers Automotive location in Concord, NC, diagnosing and fixing all makes and models with ASE-level skill. You will lead a team of technicians, mentor apprentices, and ensure every vehicle passes a rigorous 27-point inspection. This role offers a Monday-Friday schedule, PTO, and a performance-based bonus plan.
What You'll Do7
- 1Diagnose and repair complex engine, transmission, and electrical issues across all vehicle makes and models using factory scan tools and diagnostic equipment.
- 2Perform complete courtesy vehicle inspections, documenting findings and recommending necessary maintenance with full transparency.
- 3Lead the shop floor, assigning tasks, managing workflow, and ensuring all repairs meet Christian Brothers Automotive quality standards.
- 4Mentor junior technicians on advanced diagnostic techniques and repair procedures, fostering a collaborative and learning environment.
- 5Communicate technical issues and repair options clearly to service advisors and customers, building trust and loyalty.
- 6Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, adhering to all safety protocols and company guidelines.
- 7Flag 40+ hours per week of billable work, balancing speed with precision and customer satisfaction.
Requirements7
- 15+ years of experience as an automotive technician/mechanic, with expertise in diagnosing and repairing all makes and models.
- 2ASE certification preferred, with L1 A-Level technician status highly desirable.
- 3Proven ability to lead and manage workflow, with strong communication and mentoring skills.
- 4Own a comprehensive set of hand tools and diagnostic equipment.
- 5Ability to regularly lift and move 50+ pounds, work in tight spaces, and stand for extended periods.
- 6Proficiency in navigating computer-based diagnostic and shop management systems.
- 7Valid driver's license and ability to drive manual transmission vehicles.
