Laundry Aide, Healthcare Services & Nonprofit Hospital District
Overview
The Laundry Aide will own the daily fabric and article cleaning operations for residents across the health services building at Martha & Mary. You will support the laundry team, the Laundry Technician, and the Director of Environmental Services with a focus on reliability and resident satisfaction. You will collaborate with NACs, Unit Aides, Housekeepers, and other Laundry Aides to meet resident needs and maintain a clean, organized environment. What You'll Do9
- 1Load articles into washer and add detergent or other cleaning agents
- 2Tend laundering machines to clean sheets, blankets, pillow coverings and personal items
- 3Operate dryers for specific cycle times and transfer dry articles
- 4Sort dry articles by identification numbers, name or type and fold or store accordingly
- 5Hang clothes on racks by name and number and deliver personal laundry to designated areas
- 6Track resident clothing inventory and ensure clothing is mended and ready to wear
- 7Maintain a neat and clean laundry area and floors
- 8Understand functions of various soaps and bleaches
- 9Possibly assist residents to eat in dining rooms as regulations allow
Requirements10
- 1High school diploma or equivalent
- 2Good verbal communication skills
- 3Ability to be on feet for entire shift
- 4Interest in environmental service setting and client engagement
- 5Ability to keep pace with laundry staff and machines
- 6Onsite schedule 5am to 1 30pm
- 7Pay range $17.50 to $20.71 per hour depending on experience
- 8Previous laundry or housekeeping experience preferred
- 9Dependability and organizational skills
- 10Experience working in long term care or health services setting is a plus
