Overview

You own inpatient obstetric care for a high-volume Labor & Delivery unit in Renton, WA. This full-time Laborist role covers triage, labor management, deliveries, and emergent OB/GYN procedures. You work alongside midwives, OB/GYN physicians, anesthesiology, and neonatology in a team-oriented hospital. The role stands out for its 24/7 laborist shifts and focus on obstetric emergencies. What You'll Do8

  • 1Provide 24/7 inpatient obstetric care through scheduled Laborist shifts, managing labor and performing vaginal deliveries.
  • 2Assist with cesarean sections and respond to obstetric emergencies, including shoulder dystocia and postpartum hemorrhage.
  • 3Support triage evaluations and make timely clinical decisions for patients presenting to the L&D unit.
  • 4Collaborate with midwives, OB/GYN physicians, anesthesia, pediatrics/NICU, and L&D nursing teams on patient care.
  • 5Provide gynecologic urgent care and assist with inpatient consults as needed.
  • 6Ensure accurate and timely EMR documentation for all patient encounters.
  • 7Participate in quality initiatives, safety drills, and multidisciplinary meetings to improve care.
  • 8Manage high-volume deliveries and emergent operative interventions in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements6

  • 1MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
  • 2Completion of an ACGME-accredited OB/GYN residency.
  • 3Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics & Gynecology.
  • 4Eligible for Washington medical licensure.
  • 5Prior Laborist or high-volume L&D experience strongly preferred; facility not considering new graduates.
  • 6Strong clinical judgment and ability to manage obstetric emergencies.
