Kitchen Runner, Restaurant & Food Delivery
Overview
You will own the flow of dishes between the kitchen and dining areas at a busy family restaurant. Kitchen Runner role requires speed and precision to keep orders moving during peak hours. You'll coordinate with DoorDash and GrubHub drivers, ensuring every order leaves correct and on time. This role offers hands-on experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment, with opportunities to grow into prep or line positions.
What You'll Do7
- 1Accurately package and label orders for DoorDash and GrubHub pickup within 5 minutes of ticket receipt.
- 2Verify each order against the ticket to ensure completeness before handoff to drivers.
- 3Expedite plates from kitchen to pass, organizing by course and table to maintain steady service flow.
- 4Communicate order modifications and requests between servers, kitchen staff, and management.
- 5Organize and stock kitchen supplies, utensils, and ingredients to keep stations ready for service.
- 6Follow safety and sanitation policies, including proper glove use and temperature checks.
- 7Support prep team with vegetable washing and chopping during slow periods.
Requirements6
- 11+ years in a restaurant or hospitality role preferred, but not required for entry-level.
- 2ServeSafe or local food handler certification a plus.
- 3Ability to carry 25+ lbs hot trays and plates safely.
- 4Stand and walk for 8+ hour shifts without breaks beyond scheduled.
- 5Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- 6Strong English communication skills for order accuracy and team coordination.
