Kennel Assistant, Veterinary Care & Boarding Support
Overview
The Kennel Assistant will support veterinarians and technicians, ensuring the comfort, cleanliness, and wellbeing of patients and boarding animals at Sierra Ranch Veterinary Clinic. What You'll Do5
- 1Build and maintain clean kennels, cages, treatment areas, and hospital spaces to support patient safety.
- 2Assist veterinarians and technicians with patient care including nail trims, vaccinations, and anal gland expressions to improve workflow and patient outcomes.
- 3Provide daily care for boarding animals, including feeding, walking, monitoring, and reporting changes in condition.
- 4Stock, organize, and maintain supplies to ensure ready access for clinical tasks and care activities.
- 5Prepare surgical packs and assist with equipment maintenance and cleaning to support efficient procedures.
Requirements5
- 1Confident and safe animal handling abilities
- 2Strong time management and prioritization skills
- 3Basic knowledge of flea and tick preventatives, medications, and general veterinary care
- 4Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- 5High school diploma or equivalent preferred
