Overview
Journeyman Plumber will own designing installing and maintaining industrial piping systems at scale within commercial and industrial facilities The team collaborates with foremen field crews and project teams to complete installations safely and to code standards This role stands out through leadership responsibilities mentorship of apprentices and hands on supervision of multiple crews
What You'll Do10
- 1Build and install plumbing and piping systems in industrial facilities
- 2Lead plumbers and field crews acting as a working foreman on large projects
- 3Measure cut and bend pipe and tubing to required angles using cutters benders and related tools
- 4Thread and assemble black and steel pipe and other materials according to specifications and codes
- 5Read interpret and work from blueprints drawings and code requirements to lay out piping systems
- 6Install and connect PVC cast iron and steel piping for plumbing and mechanical systems
- 7Perform brazing welding and other joining methods on piping systems when required
- 8Install service and service pumping stations backflow prevention devices and related mechanical components
- 9Troubleshoot piping issues in industrial environments and implement effective solutions
- 10Support apprentice development and collaborate with project teams to complete installations efficiently
Requirements10
- 1State of Michigan Master or Journeyman Plumber certification preferred
- 25+ years of plumbing pipefitting experience in commercial and/or industrial settings
- 3Strong proficiency in threading brazing cutting and bending pipe and tubing
- 4Demonstrated ability to install maintain and repair industrial piping systems
- 5Experience with black pipe steel pipe PVC cast iron and related piping materials
- 6Ability to read interpret blueprints construction documents and code requirements
- 7Experience working with backflow prevention devices and piping systems
- 8Knowledge of industrial facility piping systems and mechanical installations
- 9Experience in a foreman or supervisory role overseeing multiple crews on large-scale projects
- 10This is a fully onsite Pontiac MI role with regular travel to project sites
