Java Spring Boot Lead, Event-Driven Microservices
Overview
You own the design and delivery of event-driven transaction systems at Kanshe Infotech, working onsite in Charlotte, Texas, or Missouri. You lead a team of 5-8 engineers building microservices on Java 17 and Spring Boot, with AWS as the backbone. You are hands-on in code reviews, pair programming, and architectural decisions, and you integrate with Kafka, SQS, and EventBridge for asynchronous flows. You also manage PostgreSQL schemas and Terraform infrastructure, balancing technical leadership with production support. This role is distinct because you are both the lead and the top engineer, not an enterprise architect.
What You'll Do8
- 1Design and implement event-driven microservices using Java 17, Spring Boot, and AWS services like Kafka, SQS, and EventBridge.
- 2Lead a team of 5-8 engineers in daily standups, sprint planning, and code reviews, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
- 3Build and maintain PostgreSQL databases, including schema design, indexing, and query tuning for transaction processing.
- 4Automate infrastructure with Terraform, deploying environments across AWS regions with Infrastructure as Code.
- 5Debug and resolve production incidents, focusing on root cause analysis and system reliability.
- 6Drive technical improvements by introducing best practices in testing, CI/CD, and monitoring.
- 7Collaborate with product and architecture teams to translate business requirements into technical designs.
- 8Mentor junior engineers on Java and Spring Boot patterns, event-driven architecture, and cloud-native development.

- 15+ years hands-on development with Java and Spring Boot in microservices environments.
- 23+ years leading a development team, with experience in code reviews, technical design, and agile ceremonies.
- 32+ years using AWS services including Kafka, SQS, EventBridge, and PostgreSQL.
- 4Strong proficiency in Java 17, including functional programming and reactive streams.
- 5Experience with Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and management.
- 62+ years designing and implementing event-driven architectures.
- 7Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar tools.
- 8Excellent communication skills, with ability to present technical solutions to stakeholders.
