Java Backend Engineer, IAM
Overview
You will own the design and build of secure IAM microservices for enterprise distributed systems, directly impacting authentication and authorization flows across the platform. You will bridge core Java backend engineering and modern digital identity, collaborating with security and platform teams to enforce robust access controls. This contract role in Dallas, TX or Phoenix, AZ lets you shape identity infrastructure from day one. Your work will secure critical enterprise workloads and set the standard for IAM implementation.
What You'll Do6
- 1Design and implement OAuth2 and OIDC flows using Spring Security.
- 2Build and scale RESTful microservices with Java and Spring Boot.
- 3Integrate identity providers like Ping Identity or Okta into the access layer.
- 4Debug and harden authentication and authorization mechanisms across distributed systems.
- 5Ship code that meets compliance and security standards.
- 6Automate deployment and testing pipelines with Docker and Kubernetes.
Requirements6
- 15+ years building backend services with Java and Spring Boot.
- 22+ years working on IAM solutions, including OAuth2, OIDC, SAML.
- 3Hands-on experience with Ping Identity, Okta, or Azure AD.
- 4Proficiency with SQL and NoSQL databases like PostgreSQL or MongoDB.
- 5Strong understanding of encryption, hashing, and secure key management.
- 6Ability to work onsite in Dallas, TX or Phoenix, AZ (relocation acceptable).
