Overview
You will prepare sterile IV and pharmaceutical solutions in a clean room, owning compounding accuracy and compliance from day one. You'll work under USP 797 standards, ensuring every preparation meets strict safety and sterility protocols. What You'll Do9
- 1Prepare IV and pharmaceutical solutions using sterile compounding techniques, following established procedures for each batch.
- 2Adhere to documented instructions, warnings, and best practices to ensure safe and effective drug preparation.
- 3Perform environmental monitoring, sanitation, and testing per USP 797 and federal and state pharmacy regulations.
- 4Maintain drug inventory by purchasing, receiving, stocking, pulling, counting, and tracking drug items per policy.
- 5Clean the ante-room and clean room per USP 797 and maintain all required clean room logs and documentation.
- 6Verify lot numbers and conduct periodic inventory checks to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- 7Communicate clearly and professionally with pharmacy team members and stakeholders.
- 8Use computer systems and software to support compounding, documentation, and inventory management tasks.
- 9Prioritize and manage workload in a fast-paced environment, ensuring timely preparation and delivery.
Requirements9
- 1Active Tennessee state pharmacy technician license.
- 2National pharmacy technician certification (e.g., PTCB or ExCPT).
- 3Demonstrated sterile compounding techniques and aseptic procedures.
- 4Experience working in a clean room environment with USP 797 standards.
- 5Knowledge of sterile compounding regulations and inventory management practices.
- 6Strong organizational skills to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
- 7Ability to work independently while contributing as a team member.
- 8Clear verbal and written communication skills.
- 9Proficiency with computer systems and basic software applications.
