IT Technician - Healthcare Help Desk Support
Overview
You will support a large growing healthcare network, responding to inbound help desk calls, tickets, and emails from clinical and administrative staff. You will own first-level technical support for IT issues, including EMR/EHR access, VPN, and connectivity problems. Your work ensures clinical staff have reliable technology to deliver care. This role requires strict HIPAA compliance and offers direct exposure to healthcare IT operations.
What You'll Do8
- 1Respond to inbound help desk calls, tickets, and emails from clinical and administrative staff
- 2Resolve password resets, account lockouts, and EMR/EHR access issues
- 3Troubleshoot VPN, email, and connectivity problems
- 4Document incidents, troubleshooting steps, actions, and resolutions in the ticketing system
- 5Escalate complex issues to higher-level support, application teams, or IT leadership
- 6Support user account setup, access changes, and application access
- 7Maintain strict confidentiality of patient and employee data per HIPAA and company policies
- 8Handle increased ticket volume during peak periods, system updates, and special projects
Requirements8
- 1High school diploma or GED
- 2Active HIPAA compliance credential or training
- 31+ year of IT help desk, service desk, or technical support experience preferred
- 4Basic understanding of Windows, email, user accounts, passwords, and VPN
- 5Strong verbal and written communication skills
- 6Customer-first mindset with ability to remain calm under pressure
- 7Strong attention to detail for accurate documentation
- 8Ability to handle confidential information professionally
