IT Project Manager, Enterprise Systems & Governance
Overview
Own end-to-end project delivery for enterprise initiatives, from integrated timeline construction to steering committee communication, at a global channel management firm. You will drive project management processes, including Quality Review Boards, Timeline Risk Analysis, and Lessons Learned, while coordinating cross-functional teams and external governance bodies. This role demands rigorous schedule and resource management, with a focus on effort-based estimation and critical path analysis to keep complex programs on track.
What You'll Do10
- 1Drive communication with business resources, sponsors, steering committees, and governance councils to align project goals and secure decisions.
- 2Craft and maintain the project charter, and communicate status to stakeholders through regular updates and meetings.
- 3Build and maintain an integrated project timeline, tracking dependencies, effort, and resource allocations with tools like MS Project and Jira.
- 4Request work estimates based on effort rather than duration, and educate teams on avoiding buffer to improve forecasting accuracy.
- 5Influence adjustments to project timeline, budget, resources, and activities by analyzing trade-offs and presenting options.
- 6Provide critical path and critical chain information to team leads and executives to prioritize work and mitigate risks.
- 7Facilitate status meetings, issue management, and risk tracking, ensuring blockers escalate promptly to resolution.
- 8Communicate project change impact to the portfolio manager, including scope, schedule, and budget implications.
- 9Incorporate and execute the OCM plan as part of the overarching project plan, ensuring adoption and change readiness.
- 10Facilitate QRBs, Project Peer Reviews, Timeline Risk Analyses, and Lessons Learned, driving process adherence and continuous improvement.
Requirements8
- 15-7 years of IT project management experience, with proven delivery of complex, cross-functional projects.
- 2Expertise in building and managing integrated project timelines with dependencies and resource-driven plans.
- 3Strong facilitation skills for Quality Review Boards, Timeline Risk Analysis, and Lessons Learned sessions.
- 4Skilled in effort-based estimation techniques and communicating the rationale for no-buffer estimates.
- 5Ability to influence and negotiate timeline, budget, and resource adjustments with senior stakeholders.
- 6Solid understanding of critical path and critical chain methodologies for prioritization and risk management.
- 7Proficiency in project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, and Smartsheet.
- 8Awareness of regulatory and quality requirements, ensuring project tasks align with compliance standards.
