IT AI Innovation Engineer
Overview
Holland & Knight seeks an IT AI Innovation Engineer to design and maintain AI-powered software systems that improve legal practice and operations. This cross-functional role involves building RAG pipelines prompt chaining contract automation and Q&A assistants while collaborating with Innovation IT Security Legal and other teams. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and drives innovation.
What You'll Do11
- 1Develop AI workflows such as retrieval-augmented generation pipelines and prompt chaining for contract automation and attorney assistance
- 2Create full-stack applications using React TypeScript Vue and Python or Node.js integrated with internal systems
- 3Partner with cloud architects security designers and data governance teams to ensure compliance scalability and reliability
- 4Prototype solutions iteratively with legal stakeholders gathering feedback to refine usability
- 5Establish CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions adhering to SDLC and data governance standards
- 6Evaluate third-party AI tools through hands-on testing and performance benchmarking
- 7Apply secure development principles using OWASP Top 10 SANS CWE and NIST frameworks
- 8Conduct code reviews enforcing least-privilege design and automate security checks in pipelines
- 9Maintain vector databases semantic search and LLM orchestration skills
- 10Utilize ServiceNow platform and architect cloud solutions on AWS Azure Terraform and Kubernetes
- 11Collaborate across teams to deliver maintainable engineering solutions aligned with legal needs
Requirements11
- 1Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent with 5+ years of relevant experience
- 2Strong foundation in software engineering and AI systems design
- 3Proficiency in full-stack development React TypeScript Python Node.js
- 4Experience with retrieval-augmented generation prompt engineering and vector databases
- 5Familiarity with cloud infrastructure tools Terraform Kubernetes AWS CDK
- 6Knowledge of database systems and version control with git
- 7Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- 8Understanding of secure development practices and compliance frameworks
- 9Physical stamina to sit or stand for extended periods
- 10Experience working with legal professionals and governance standards
