ISSE Engineer TS/SCI Polygraph | GDIT Washington DC
Overview
You will lead Assessment and Authorization (A&A) for systems protecting national security missions, coordinating with ISSMs and SCAs to achieve ATOs. You will document security implementations within the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and gather artifacts supporting ICD 503 compliance. Working on customer site in Washington DC, you will navigate the A&A process for primary and secondary systems. This role stands out for its direct impact on agency operations and collaboration across engineering and security teams.
What You'll Do10
- 1Lead A&A reviews with Group ISSMs and Security Controls Assessors to achieve Authority to Operate.
- 2Document security control implementations, gathering artifacts that support RMF and ICD 503 accreditation.
- 3Write System Security Plans (SSP) and CONOPS by understanding each project's architecture.
- 4Develop additional A&A documents: Contingency Plans, General User Guides, Privileged User Guides, and SOPs.
- 5Track Plans of Actions and Milestones (POA&Ms), collecting evidence from system owners and PMs.
- 6Coordinate with contractor and customer security organizations to navigate the A&A process, achieving ATD, IATT, and ATO.
- 7Monitor A&A projects and communicate status fluently across all levels.
- 8Support audit liaison activities and compliance oversight to strengthen the security program.
- 9Review and update control volatility sections considering emerging threats and agency policy.
- 10Provide actionable recommendations and process improvement reports from audits and data calls.
Requirements8
- 110+ years of related experience in information assurance and system security.
- 2Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
- 3DoD Manual 8570.01-M IASAE Level II certification.
- 4Technical training, certification, or degree in a relevant field.
- 5U.S. citizenship required.
- 6Experience with RMF and ICD 503 security accreditation processes.
- 7Ability to document security control implementations and gather artifacts.
- 8Skills in Information Assurance, Information System Security, and Risk Assessments.
