What You'll Do11
- 1Inspect irrigation systems for proper performance and adjust settings to promote healthy plant growth
- 2Perform routing preventative maintenance on centralized and manual irrigation systems
- 3Improve water efficiency by setting timers on automatic control devices
- 4Maintain shop areas, work sites, equipment, and tools in a safe and orderly manner
- 5Drive, clean, and maintain university vehicles and equipment
- 6Attend required safety training sessions and comply with established safety procedures
- 7Follow TCEQ guidelines to obtain Irrigation Technician License within one calendar year of hiring
- 8Maintain a valid Class C Operator Driver License and provide a three-year driving record
- 9Submit daily labor and weekly time reports accurately
- 10Collaborate with other departments to address campus landscaping needs
- 11Work in confined spaces and lift up to 50 pounds as needed
Requirements6
- 1High school graduation or GED
- 2Two years of experience performing semi-skilled maintenance on commercial irrigation systems
- 3Ability to obtain Irrigation Technician License through TCEQ within one calendar year of hire
- 4Current Class C Operator Driver License
- 5Valid motor vehicle report showing 36 months of driving history
- 6Texas residency verification for new residents within 30 days of hire
