Overview
McLean Hospital seeks an Assistant or Associate Professor in Basic Neuroscience to lead preclinical systems neuroscience research focused on neuropsychiatric disorders. This role drives discovery through innovative approaches to understand stress response mechanisms and fosters translational collaborations bridging animal models and human studies.
What You'll Do5
- 1Design and execute experiments using whole-body effectors and endogenous regulatory systems to study stress responses
- 2Develop and maintain independently funded research programs with external grant support
- 3Supervise and train multidisciplinary teams in neuroscience methodologies
- 4Engage in collaborative projects across MGB and HMS systems
- 5Contribute to Harvard Medical School appointment requirements and clinical integration
Requirements5
- 1Ph.D. or M.D. with postdoctoral experience in neuroscience research
- 2Demonstrated expertise in basic systems neuroscience with focus on neurosteroids and inflammation
- 3Proven record of securing extramural funding and publishing in top-tier journals
- 4Board certification eligibility and Massachusetts medical license requirement
- 5Track record of translational research bridging preclinical and clinical neuroscience
