Insurance Experts | $50-$60/hr Remote
Overview
Mercor is bringing together senior insurance professionals to help train AI systems that operate in large enterprise insurance settings. In this remote, hourly role, you'll create realistic insurance scenarios, craft reference answers, and design scoring guides that mirror how top-level Fortune 500 underwriters and claims leaders approach their work. Your contributions will directly influence AI tools used for complex commercial underwriting, claims adjudication, and regulatory compliance.
What You'll Do5
- 1Develop enterprise-scale insurance scenarios involving commercial underwriting, multi-stakeholder claims resolution, and regulatory filing or compliance review workflows at Fortune 500 carriers.
- 2Design evaluation tasks across underwriting and risk assessment, claims management, actuarial pricing and reserving, reinsurance strategy, and regulatory or compliance functions.
- 3Build insurance operations use cases that incorporate standard enterprise platforms like Guidewire, Duck Creek, SAS, R, and policy or claims administration systems.
- 4Apply real-world insurance methodologies such as actuarial risk modeling, loss reserving, ERM frameworks, and NAIC compliance standards, and produce reference underwriting guidelines, claims strategies, and executive-level risk narratives.
- 5Write scoring rubrics that separate genuine enterprise insurance judgment from textbook or licensing-exam recall.
Requirements4
- 1At least 5 years of experience in underwriting, claims, actuarial, or risk management at a Fortune 500 insurance carrier, reinsurer, or large enterprise risk organization.
- 2Direct ownership experience with Fortune 500-scale underwriting portfolios, claims operations, or actuarial pricing models.
- 3Strong working knowledge of enterprise insurance tools and methodologies, plus an understanding of how regulatory compliance, reinsurance treaties, and reserving practices function in practice.
- 4Prior experience creating rubrics, actuarial or underwriting training materials, or claims documentation is a plus.
Who Should Apply
You're a seasoned insurance professional who has spent years in the trenches at major carriers or reinsurers. You know how complex commercial underwriting, claims disputes, and regulatory filings really play out — and you can translate that expertise into clear, structured evaluation tasks. You're comfortable working independently in a remote, project-based capacity and enjoy teaching AI systems how to think like an enterprise insurance expert.
