Instructional Systems Designer Job at Leidos (TS/SCI Poly)
Overview
The Instructional Systems Designer owns the full lifecycle of learning solutions for a specialized customer mission at Leidos. You will design and develop instructor-led, virtual, and online training that prepares learners for mission success. Collaborate with instructors, subject matter experts, and technical teams to apply ADDIE and adult learning principles. Integrate emerging technologies, including AI-enabled tools, to improve learning experiences. This role stands out for its focus on mission-critical training and the use of Articulate Storyline and other advanced tools.
What You'll Do10
- 1Design and develop instructor-led, virtual, and online learning solutions using ADDIE and adult learning principles.
- 2Conduct training needs analyses with subject matter experts to define learning strategies and outcomes.
- 3Build engaging instructional materials including lesson plans, facilitator guides, web-based training, videos, job aids, and assessments.
- 4Manage instructional design projects from concept to implementation, tracking schedules and deliverables.
- 5Measure training effectiveness with qualitative and quantitative data, then recommend improvements.
- 6Design and administer course evaluations, surveys, and assessments to gauge learner progress.
- 7Integrate AI-enabled tools and other emerging technologies into learning solutions and development workflows.
- 8Facilitate training sessions, instructional skills workshops, and small group discussions.
- 9Collaborate with AV, IT, production teams, and customers to deliver high-quality learning products.
- 10Maintain project documentation and ensure compliance with customer security policies and standards.
Requirements10
- 1Active TS/SCI with Polygraph.
- 2Bachelor's degree and 12+ years of relevant experience, or Master's degree and 10+ years of relevant experience.
- 3Degree in Instructional Design, Adult Learning, Education, Educational Technology, Online Learning, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
- 4Experience applying ADDIE and adult learning principles in instructional design.
- 5Demonstrated experience designing and developing instructor-led and online learning solutions.
- 6Experience conducting needs analyses, collaborating with subject matter experts, and evaluating learning effectiveness.
- 7Experience creating web-based training with tools such as Articulate Storyline, Camtasia, Lectora, Adobe Creative Cloud, or similar.
- 8Knowledge of accessible design principles and ADA-compliant learning development.
- 9Strong project management and communication skills, with experience using Microsoft Office, learning management systems, and project tracking tools.
- 10Ability to manage multiple priorities, working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

$105 - $190k per year
