What You'll Do9
- 1Manage a classroom of 10-20 students providing academic mentoring and homework assistance
- 2Lead enrichment activities including art cooking STEM and fitness classes
- 3Conduct life skills and team-building exercises to develop student capabilities
- 4Communicate effectively with parents guardians school staff and BGCP leadership
- 5Participate in weekly check-ins and staff meetings to align with organizational goals
- 6Maintain a positive safe productive work environment and support special events
- 7Attend trainings and professional development opportunities
- 8Support diverse youth populations and constituents through engaging interactions
- 9Demonstrate strong communication skills and adaptability in dynamic settings
Requirements9
- 1Commitment to BGCP's mission and vision for TK-8 youth development
- 2Experience building relationships with diverse youth communities
- 3Ability to motivate through positive reinforcement techniques
- 4Flexibility in a fast-paced environment with occasional lifting up to 25 pounds
- 5Strong fine finger dexterity and near vision acuity
- 6Physical stamina for standing and walking approximately 80 percent of the time
- 7Availability for at least three days per week during the school year
- 8Prior one year of experience working with K-8 students preferred
- 9Spanish fluency is a plus
