Overview
Jordan Valley Water Conservancy District seeks a dependable safety-conscious Inspector/Locator I to perform utility locating construction inspection and easement monitoring protecting District pipelines facilities and critical infrastructure. This role involves collaborating with contractors utility owners property owners customers engineers and staff to safeguard infrastructure and meet District requirements.
What You'll Do11
- 1Fulfill Blue Stakes requests and locate documented and undocumented pipelines using locator equipment drawings maps GIS information valve locations and knowledge of the District system
- 2Locate utilities on District property including water gas fiber-optic storm drain sewer and electrical lines
- 3Inspect and document construction activities and utility crossings over or under District pipelines and facilities
- 4Coordinate with contractors and utility owners to address installation concerns and ensure compliance with District specifications
- 5Perform water-line flushing pressure testing chlorination and bacteriological testing
- 6Repair coating damage and prepare as-built drawings utility drawings photographs and other project documentation
- 7Monitor District pipelines easements and rights-of-way for encroachments or other threats
- 8Work with contractors and property owners regarding easement protection requirements and easement awareness
- 9Coordinate pipeline shutdowns and notify affected customers
- 10Maintain assigned vehicles locating equipment tools and other District property
- 11Schedule and work according to a rotating 24-hour emergency standby schedule responding within 30 minutes while on standby with occasional overtime after-hours holiday and weekend work
Requirements8
- 15+ years building ETL pipelines with Spark and Airflow
- 2Utah Grade IV Water Distribution Operator certification
- 3Utah Department of Transportation flagging certification
- 4Forklift certification
- 5Knowledge of engineering terminology and ability to read maps easements design drawings and blueprints
- 6Basic mathematical skills including calculating rates ratios percentages fractions and decimals
- 7Ability to prepare routine reports and communicate effectively with contractors property owners customers government agencies and District employees
- 8Sound judgment and ability to analyze information and solve field-related problems
