Field Supervisor, Underground Utility Locating
Overview
You will supervise a team of Locators for an Underground Utility Locating contract in the Saint Paul, MN area, ensuring daily route and ticket schedules are completed. You'll provide on-the-job training, resolve customer issues, and report daily to upper management. As the subject matter expert, you'll also perform locating duties as needed. This role offers relocation assistance and a company truck, with a clear path to grow within a leading meter servicing company.
What You'll Do7
- 1Ensure route and ticket schedules are completed as planned, adjusting ledgering and sequencing to cut costs.
- 2Resolve customer issues and answer questions per Olameter policies, escalating to the Regional Manager when needed.
- 3Provide daily reports to upper management and input on staff performance.
- 4Assist the Contract Manager in hiring, discipline, and termination processes.
- 5Perform route locating as needed, using GPS and handheld devices to mark underground utilities.
- 6Support workers' comp and safety investigations when required.
- 7Train staff on utility locating techniques and safety protocols, ensuring compliance with DOT guidelines.
Requirements8
- 12+ years experience as a Locator
- 2Valid driver's license
- 3High School Diploma or equivalent
- 4Previous supervisory experience helpful
- 5Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
- 6Ability to teach and train others in meter reading and installation
- 7Computer skills using Microsoft Office and the ability to enter data into a handheld device or database
- 8Must pass random drug testing per DOT guidelines and complete the company's training program
