Inspection Technician, CMM & Quality Control
Overview
Own quality assurance for aerospace components in a Los Angeles facility. Verify part geometry with CMM programming and inspect receiving, in-process, and finished goods. Collaborate with production teams to resolve discrepancies and maintain SPC data. Drive zero-defect outcomes in a high-precision manufacturing environment.
What You'll Do8
- 1Set up and operate CMM equipment to inspect complex parts, programming as needed.
- 2Inspect receiving, in-process, and finished components using calipers, micrometers, and optical comparators.
- 3Verify SPC data for final acceptance, ensuring parts meet tolerance requirements.
- 4Document inspection results in the MES system and generate reports for discrepant material.
- 5Evaluate returned goods, define discrepancies, and report findings to engineering.
- 6Prepare certificates of conformance per customer specifications when required.
- 7Develop and implement inspection instructions to improve process consistency.
- 8Segregate nonconforming material and maintain proper documentation and control.
Requirements6
- 12+ years experience in inspection or quality control in manufacturing.
- 2Hands-on CMM operation and programming (e.g., PC-DMIS or Calypso).
- 3Proficiency with SPC tools and data analysis.
- 4Ability to read blueprints and GD&T symbols.
- 5Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
- 6Effective communication with cross-functional teams.
