This role sits onsite at St. Joseph Medical Center and reports to the Chief Quality Officer.

What You'll Do10

  • 1Build and refine the infection control program across the facility to meet evolving guidelines and performance goals
  • 2Lead daily surveillance for hospital and community acquired infections and implement corrective actions to reduce transmission
  • 3Monitor the environment for potential risks and outbreaks and report sentinel events in collaboration with providers
  • 4Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to develop, revise, and enforce infection control policies and procedures
  • 5Provide education and consult during emergencies or bioterrorism events related to infectious diseases
  • 6Contribute to hospital infection control committee activities and quality improvement initiatives
  • 7Ensure regulatory reporting and data accuracy for infection control statistics and trend analysis
  • 8Promote patient safety and improve patient experience through staff education and best practices
  • 9Maintain competency with current standards and complete annual education requirements
  • 10Support resource stewardship and safe patient care across the continuum of care

Requirements10

  • 1Bachelor's degree in nursing, public health, medical technology, or related field
  • 2Two years clinical/healthcare experience preferred
  • 3CIC certification preferred
  • 4Strong communication and presentation skills
  • 5Proficiency with Microsoft Office and online applications
  • 6Ability to work independently, manage multiple deliverables, and maintain attention to detail
  • 7Ability to collaborate with diverse teams and levels of staff
  • 8Willingness to stay current with trends by reading literature and attending related events
  • 9Bi or multilingual abilities are a plus
