Overview

You will own residential HVAC service and repair across Chicago, handling diagnostics, maintenance, and system upgrades for clients with 72 years of legacy behind you. You'll join a family-owned team of 10+ technicians supported by in-house dispatchers and warehouse staff. What You'll Do8

  • 1Diagnose and repair residential heating and cooling systems, including furnaces, AC units, and heat pumps, delivering first-visit fixes in 90 days.
  • 2Perform routine maintenance on HVAC equipment, checking refrigerant levels, electrical components, and airflow to prevent breakdowns.
  • 3Consult customers on repair vs. replacement options, IAQ accessories, and energy-efficient upgrades to reduce their utility costs.
  • 4Test and balance system performance using manometers, thermometers, and combustion analyzers to meet manufacturer specs.
  • 5Read and apply wiring schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams to troubleshoot electrical faults safely.
  • 6Document service findings and recommendations using mobile apps and company software after each call.
  • 7Drive a company vehicle stocked with parts to arrive at jobs prepared and minimize return trips.
  • 8Collaborate with dispatchers and warehouse staff to ensure parts availability and schedule efficiency.

Requirements10

  • 12+ years of hands-on residential HVAC service experience or equivalent trade school plus field work.
  • 2Current EPA Type I & II or EPA Universal certification
  • 3Valid driver's license with a clean record meeting company insurance requirements.
  • 4High school diploma, GED, or equivalent education.
  • 5Strong working knowledge of HVAC systems, including refrigeration cycles, electrical circuits, and gas combustion.
  • 6Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical failures using multimeters, pressure gauges, and combustion analyzers.
  • 7Proven customer service skills with homeowners, explaining technical issues in plain terms.
  • 8Comfort working independently with mobile dispatch and GPS routing; reliable and organized.
  • 9Completion of an HVAC trade school program is preferred.
  • 10Must pass a background check and drug test after conditional offer.
