What You'll Do11

  • 1Provide expert technical guidance and advanced troubleshooting for HVAC/R systems, including rack refrigeration, air conditioning, boilers, and related mechanical/electrical equipment.
  • 2Direct and supervise field service technicians performing HVAC/R maintenance and repair across assigned facilities, ensuring quality and safety.
  • 3Train and onboard new technicians in maintenance procedures, safety practices, and company protocols to ensure consistent compliance.
  • 4Conduct weekly on-site quality assurance inspections at maintained facilities, documenting findings and driving corrective actions to completion.
  • 5Manage refrigerant inventory and usage per EPA regulations, maintaining accurate records and ensuring EPA 608 compliance.
  • 6Prepare detailed technical evaluations and deficiency reports on existing mechanical and HVAC/R systems to support improvement planning.
  • 7Respond to emergency service situations, assess system issues, and implement safe, timely technical solutions.
  • 8Support operations management with performance metrics and technical reporting to improve service delivery.
  • 9Collaborate with clients and internal teams, communicating clearly about system status and maintenance needs.
  • 10Implement and optimize preventive maintenance programs for HVAC/R and building systems.
  • 11Participate in capital project planning related to HVAC/R infrastructure.

Requirements10

  • 16+ years of technical and supervisory experience in building engineering, including oversight of field technicians.
  • 2Hands-on background in HVAC/R systems with specific experience in rack refrigeration and mechanical systems.
  • 3Proficient troubleshooting for HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, and boiler systems in commercial/industrial settings.
  • 4Demonstrated field service experience in repair and maintenance of HVAC/R equipment.
  • 5Proven team supervision skills, including training, mentoring, and performance guidance.
  • 6EPA Universal Certification (Section 608) or equivalent for handling refrigerants.
  • 7Valid driver's license for travel between serviced properties.
  • 8Solid communication skills for technical teams and clients, including clear reporting.
  • 9Ability to manage refrigerant usage and documentation per regulatory standards.
  • 10Competence in implementing preventive maintenance procedures for HVAC/R systems.
