HVAC Project Engineer Job in Kansas City, MO
Overview
You will support commercial mechanical construction projects from preconstruction through closeout across the Kansas City metro. Your scope includes office, healthcare, education, and industrial builds, coordinating submittals, equipment procurement, and on-site HVAC installation. Working with project managers, superintendents, and field crews, you will ensure mechanical work meets design intent, code, and schedule. This role offers a clear path to HVAC Project Manager with exposure to Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and Procore.
What You'll Do7
- 1Coordinate HVAC submittals, shop drawings, and equipment procurement for commercial projects
- 2Track project schedules, cost logs, as-builts, and O&M documentation through closeout
- 3Review mechanical drawings and specs against design intent and applicable codes
- 4Drive RFIs, change orders, and field documentation with superintendents and vendors
- 5Expedite delivery of AHUs, RTUs, VAVs, chillers, and boilers to meet milestones
- 6Support testing and balancing (TAB) and commissioning to verify system performance
- 7Facilitate punch list completion and closeout documentation across project sites
Requirements8
- 1Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- 21-5 years of experience in HVAC or MEP construction
- 3Working knowledge of commercial and industrial HVAC systems and blueprints
- 4Proficiency with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Revit, or Procore
- 5Strong coordination and written communication skills
- 6EIT or FE certification preferred
- 7OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred
- 8Hands-on experience with TAB and commissioning workflows preferred
