You will own HR risk management, compliance, and audit operations for First Merchants Bank's Columbus office. What You'll Do9

  • 1Lead HR risk assessments and document control processes within the first 90 days.
  • 2Coordinate internal and external audit requests, gathering evidence using HRIS and Microsoft Office.
  • 3Audit HR files, processes, and records to identify gaps in compliance.
  • 4Maintain investigation logs, metrics, and case tracking with confidential handling.
  • 5Track corrective actions from audits and investigations to closure.
  • 6Update policy, handbook, and procedure documentation for accuracy and compliance.
  • 7Generate risk, compliance, and audit reports for HR leadership.
  • 8Support leave of absence administration and backup HR Shared Services.
  • 9Drive process improvements for HR operations and governance.

Requirements9

  • 1High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • 23+ years administrative experience with 1+ year in HR role.
  • 3Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or related field (preferred).
  • 4HR training or certifications such as PHR or SHRM-CP (preferred).
  • 5Experience with audit preparation and HRIS systems.
  • 6Experience supporting investigations, compliance, or risk activities.
  • 7Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • 8Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
  • 9Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
