HR Generalist, Federal Agency & SF-52 Personnel Actions
Overview
You will own federal HR operations for a Federal Agency, managing SF-52 personnel actions from initiation to completion. You will support staffing, onboarding, and records management for a workforce of 500+ employees. You will join a tight-knit HR team of 5, reporting to the HR Director. You will work on-site in Washington, DC, collaborating daily with hiring managers and HR stakeholders. This role offers direct exposure to OPM regulations and federal HR lifecycle processes.
What You'll Do10
- 1Prepare, review, and process SF-52 Requests for Personnel Action, tracking each through final approval.
- 2Coordinate personnel actions including appointments, promotions, reassignments, and separations, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- 3Support recruitment and staffing by posting vacancies, reviewing resumes, and scheduling interviews with hiring managers.
- 4Manage new hire onboarding and offboarding, including background checks, orientation, and exit processing.
- 5Classify federal positions according to OPM standards, ensuring correct title, series, and grade.
- 6Maintain personnel records and staffing trackers in SharePoint, generating status reports for leadership.
- 7Provide HR guidance to employees and managers on policies, benefits, and lifecycle events.
- 8Draft HR correspondence and communications using Microsoft Word and Outlook.
- 9Handle sensitive employee data with full confidentiality, following Privacy Act guidelines.
- 10Track deadlines for personnel actions, benefits enrollment, and compliance training, escalating as needed.
Requirements10
- 13+ years of HR experience in a federal or federal contracting environment.
- 2Hands-on experience preparing and processing SF-52 actions.
- 3Working knowledge of OPM regulations and federal HR policies.
- 4Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field.
- 5Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint.
- 6Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with senior leadership.
- 7Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
- 8Proven track record managing multiple priorities with high accuracy.
- 9Experience with federal position classification and lifecycle processes.
- 10Customer service orientation with a strong sense of discretion.
Salary Insight
