Housekeeping Supervisor, Hotel Operations
Overview
You will run daily housekeeping operations at the Residence Inn San Diego Downtown/Gaslamp, ensuring guest rooms and public spaces meet brand standards. You will assign work, inspect rooms, and train the team. This role reports to the Director of Rooms and requires weekend and holiday availability. You will drive guest satisfaction and team performance in a high-volume urban hotel.
What You'll Do10
- 1Assign daily work to the housekeeping team, balancing room counts and deep cleans to hit cleanliness targets
- 2Inspect guest rooms, public areas, restrooms, meeting rooms, and employee areas against Marriott and IHM standards
- 3Train new room attendants, laundry attendants, and housemen on cleaning procedures and safety habits
- 4Update room status in the property management system (e.g., Fosse) so the front desk releases ready rooms quickly
- 5Communicate guest requests and room readiness between housekeeping, front desk, and maintenance teams
- 6Submit maintenance requests for any deficiencies found during room inspections
- 7Keep linen rooms and storage areas organized and stocked, including ordering and receiving supplies
- 8Step into any housekeeping role (room attendant, laundry, houseman) when staffing gaps occur
- 9Run daily shift openings and closings, including key control and chemical safety checks
- 10Lead team huddles to recognize wins and address service gaps
Requirements8
- 12+ years in hotel housekeeping operations, with supervisory experience preferred
- 2Knowledge of housekeeping procedures, productivity standards, scheduling, and labor cost control
- 3Basic to intermediate Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel skills
- 4Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended shifts and lift up to 25 pounds
- 5Flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and variable hours based on occupancy
- 6Strong problem-solving skills to anticipate and resolve guest and staff issues
- 7Readily available and approachable for all guests, delivering excellent service
- 8Certified in CPR or willing to obtain within 30 days
