What You'll Do10
- 1Clean and sanitize resident apartments, common areas, and offices, focusing on surfaces, fixtures, windows, floors, and carpets.
- 2Dust, fluff, and straighten furniture in public areas to ensure a clean and safe environment.
- 3Post caution and safety signs before tasks that could cause slips or falls, and remove them promptly after completion.
- 4Monitor and remove trash and waste from inside and outside areas to designated bins throughout your shift.
- 5Use appropriate PPE, such as gloves, masks, and aprons, when handling hazardous waste or chemicals.
- 6Store housekeeping supplies and carts securely, locking away chemicals and hazardous materials.
- 7Follow policies for labeling and using Safety Data Sheets, and safely handle, mix, and dispose of cleaning solutions.
- 8Keep work areas attractive and hazard-free by storing equipment and tools after use.
- 9Engage residents with a warm, friendly demeanor and respond to simple requests, reporting any concerns to a supervisor.
- 10Perform laundry services for residents as scheduled, ensuring timely and organized delivery.
Requirements10
- 1High school diploma or GED preferred.
- 2Prior experience in housekeeping or cleaning in a similar role preferred; on-the-job training available for candidates with the right attitude.
- 3Compassion for the elderly and ability to interact with people of different ages and backgrounds.
- 4Demonstrated ability to work in a resident-centered environment with potential exposure to unpleasant odors, blood, or bodily fluids.
- 5Must be age 18 or over.
- 6Must complete background clearances, health screening, and provide a negative TB test within 7 days of employment.
- 7Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to read, write, and speak English.
- 8Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.
- 9Ability to stand for prolonged periods, walk, bend, kneel, squat, pull, reach overhead, and perform repetitive motion.
- 10Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and push up to 250 pounds.
