What You'll Do8
- 1Greet every guest with a warm, professional welcome and manage the waitlist using OpenTable to balance table availability across the 150-seat dining room.
- 2Coordinate seating rotations to ensure servers and bussers maintain a steady, balanced workload during 3-hour peak shifts.
- 3Hustle to maintain a clean, inviting host stand and entryway, restocking menus and champagne flutes as needed.
- 4Communicate table status and special requests to the service team via headset, ensuring seamless handoffs during busy rushes.
- 5Handle guest complaints with grace, offering immediate solutions like complimentary appetizers or table changes to retain loyalty.
- 6Support the maître d’ in executing VIP reservations, including 10-top birthday parties and corporate dinners, with meticulous timing.
- 7Monitor dining room flow and coordinate with the kitchen on ticket times to reduce guest wait times by 10% within the first 60 days.
- 8Train new hosts on POS system and seating procedures, ensuring consistent standards across all shifts.
Requirements6
- 12+ years in a host or guest-facing role at an upscale restaurant or hotel.
- 2Ability to stand and walk for 8-hour shifts, lifting up to 20 lbs when moving service stands.
- 3Flexible schedule including weekend and holiday shifts, with at least 2 evening shifts per week.
- 4Strong verbal communication skills to coordinate with bartenders, servers, and management in a loud environment.
