Overview

Owns training and mentorship for operators handling heavy equipment across construction and road maintenance projects. Drives safety and efficiency at scale on public works programs. Collaborates with Roadway Leadership and field teams to improve operations and public safety. This is a hands-on leadership role with a strong emphasis on training and compliance.

What You'll Do10

  • 1Lead training sessions for classroom and field environments on equipment policies and safe operations
  • 2Operate a variety of construction vehicles including motor grader, loader, backhoe, water truck, dump trucks and more
  • 3Plan, coordinate, and schedule training for all assigned equipment and vehicles
  • 4Pre-check, train, clean, and perform routine maintenance on equipment and report mechanical issues
  • 5Complete daily logs, prepare reports, attend safety meetings, and maintain training data in LMS and asset management software
  • 6Report safety hazards and traffic problems to Roadway Leadership and support emergency response activities
  • 7Enter training data into Learning Management and Asset Management software
  • 8Assist in ensuring CDL and tanker endorsement compliance for drivers
  • 9Support ATSSA flagger instruction or traffic control supervision as needed
  • 10Contribute to safety-focused culture and regulatory compliance across field operations

Requirements6

  • 1Five years of work experience operating trucks and heavy equipment
  • 2High school diploma or GED
  • 3Valid Arizona Class A Commercial Driver's License with a tanker endorsement
  • 4Pre-employment safety history investigation and drug/alcohol testing requirements for safety-sensitive roles
  • 5Preferred: experience as ATSSA Flagger Instructor or Traffic Control Supervisor
  • 6Must be able to perform physical tasks and work in varied conditions
