What You'll Do8

  • 1Secure heavy machinery onto trailers using straps, chains, and binders, verifying load weight and balance for safe transit.
  • 2Drive Class A CDL trucks with multi-axle trailers across Texas, navigating GPS and paper maps to meet delivery windows.
  • 3Inspect trucks and trailers pre- and post-trip, documenting defects and coordinating repairs with the maintenance team.
  • 4Complete DOT driver logs and daily inspection reports accurately, maintaining compliance with FMCSA regulations.
  • 5Operate hydraulic lifts and winches to load and unload equipment at customer sites, guiding ground crews with hand signals.
  • 6Coordinate with branch dispatchers to prioritize deliveries, adjusting routes for weather, traffic, and permit requirements.
  • 7Maintain a clean driving record and truck appearance, following company safety protocols and HOLT CAT values.
  • 8Assist warehouse staff with equipment staging and yard organization during peak delivery seasons.

Requirements8

  • 15+ years verifiable heavy haul driving experience, with 8+ years preferred.
  • 2Valid Texas Class A CDL with Doubles and Triples endorsements required.
  • 33+ years operating 7 or 8 axle configuration trucks, with 5+ years preferred.
  • 4Knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations for safe transport of oversized loads.
  • 5Proficiency with GPS navigation and electronic logging devices (ELDs) for route planning and compliance.
  • 6Ability to perform pre-trip inspections and basic mechanical troubleshooting on air brakes and hydraulic systems.
  • 7Physical stamina to climb ladders, secure loads, and work in all weather conditions for extended periods.
  • 8High school diploma or equivalent preferred, with a clean driving record.
