What You'll Do8

  • 1Drive strategic planning and financial management for the revenue management team, setting goals for charge capture and collections in Epic.
  • 2Supervise 15 FTE and revenue managers, handling hiring, performance reviews, and resource allocation to meet departmental targets.
  • 3Build and maintain a compliance manual and website, conducting service audits and writing compliance reports for Medical Center leadership and department chairs.
  • 4Lead compliant professional fee billing processes, ensuring accurate coding with ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes across all payer types.
  • 5Collaborate with centralized and departmental staff to establish regular compliance education for physicians, residents, and administrators.
  • 6Design and implement coding workflows that reduce denials and improve reimbursement rates, leveraging Epic and coding platforms.
  • 7Oversee coding projects and quality assurance processes, ensuring timelines and accuracy standards are met.
  • 8Communicate federal and local billing regulations clearly to faculty and staff at all levels, translating complex rules into actionable guidance.

Requirements8

  • 17+ years of management experience in healthcare revenue cycle operations.
  • 2Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field.
  • 3In-depth knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes, including modifier application and global surgery rules.
  • 4Advanced ability to select correct E/M levels based on medical necessity, MDM, and time requirements.
  • 5Proficiency with Epic and other electronic health record systems, coding platforms, and billing tools.
  • 6Experience with bargaining units and labor management in a healthcare setting.
  • 7Hold one of: CPC, CCS, RHIT, or RHIP certification.
  • 8Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with capacity to present to diverse audiences.
