What You'll Do9
- 1Own the clerical and coordination functions for the Newborn Nursery during night shift, ensuring seamless unit operations.
- 2Partner with the charge nurse to facilitate patient admissions, transfers, and discharges, prioritizing patient needs.
- 3Track and maintain unit supplies and equipment, verifying compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- 4Serve as the central communication hub, relaying information between clinical staff, patients, and families.
- 5Use desktop computers and office software to manage patient records, orders, and unit documentation.
- 6Assist with patient registration and insurance verification, ensuring accurate data entry.
- 7Answer phones and direct calls, applying medical terminology to triage inquiries and escalate urgent matters.
- 8Support the nursing team with administrative tasks, including maintaining logs and preparing reports.
- 9Uphold confidentiality and privacy standards in all patient interactions and data handling.
Requirements8
- 1Associate Degree plus 1 year related experience, LVN with 1 year experience, or 7 years commensurate experience required.
- 2Basic Life Support certification from an AHA-approved program required.
- 3Health Unit Coordination certification required.
- 4Proficiency with desktop computers and office software including word processing and spreadsheets.
- 5Strong medical terminology knowledge for accurate documentation and communication.
- 6Excellent written and verbal communication skills for heavy public contact.
- 7Effective organizational skills to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- 8Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
