Overview
As a Graduate Assistant in the Tutoring Center, you will own the evening operations, supervising undergraduate tutors and providing writing support for graduate and undergraduate students. You will train tutors alongside the director, create graduate-level writing workshops on APA, plagiarism, AI, and professional voice, and boost engagement through social media. This role offers hands-on leadership development and a tuition remission of up to 18 credit hours per year. What You'll Do8
- 1Supervise the tutoring center during evening hours, ensuring a welcoming and supportive environment for students.
- 2Train and support undergraduate tutors in collaboration with the tutoring director.
- 3Develop graduate-level writing workshops covering APA, plagiarism, AI usage, and professional voice.
- 4Collaborate on social media posts to increase engagement with tutoring services.
- 5Attend weekly or bi-weekly meetings with the tutoring director to review performance and tasks.
- 6Partner with offices such as Academic Advising, Student Success, Athletics, and the Library to address academic needs.
- 7Maintain confidentiality of ODU information in all interactions.
- 8Promote tutoring at campus events like resource fairs, classroom visits, orientations, and Accepted Panther Day.
Requirements6
- 1Enrolled in a Master's degree program at Ohio Dominican University.
- 2Proficient in Microsoft Office suite to generate reports and track statistics.
- 3Ability to support the mission and vision of Ohio Dominican University.
- 4Strong written and oral communication skills.
- 5Ability to work 20 hours per week while classes are in session, including evenings.
- 6Commitment to ethical decision-making in accordance with policies and protocol.
