Government Contracts Attorney Job in Atlanta, GA | LOD
Overview
This role owns transactional legal support for a large municipal government's procurement and contracting process. You will draft, review, and negotiate construction contracts, professional services agreements, and technology agreements at scale. You will work closely with internal stakeholders on public-sector agreements, from grant contracts to intergovernmental deals. You will also manage bid protests and construction claims while advising on compliance with municipal, state, and federal laws. What sets this role apart: a long-term contract with a global legal staffing leader, 4 days onsite in Atlanta, and a pay rate of $120K annualized.
What You'll Do8
- 1Draft, review, and negotiate construction contracts, professional services agreements, and technology agreements to final execution.
- 2Advise internal stakeholders on procurement and contracting matters, including contract interpretation and legal risk.
- 3Review solicitations and legislative documents as part of the procurement process for compliance.
- 4Manage bid protests and contract disputes, including drafting responses and supporting resolution.
- 5Handle construction claims and change orders, ensuring proper documentation and legal validity.
- 6Conduct legal research on municipal, state, and federal laws affecting procurement and contracting.
- 7Drive improvement of contract management processes and best practices to increase efficiency.
- 8Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align contract terms with public-sector requirements.
Requirements5
- 1J.D. from an accredited law school.
- 2Active membership in the Georgia Bar in good standing.
- 34-6 years of experience in commercial contracts, procurement, or government transactional practice.
- 4Strong drafting, negotiation, and contract management skills.
- 5Experience with government procurement, construction law, municipal law, technology transactions, or public-sector contracting is preferred.
