Glassware – Inventory Specialist
Overview
PerkinElmer seeks a Glassware Specialist to support laboratory glassware inventory at a New York site. This role involves collecting, processing, and returning clean glassware while maintaining strict quality standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and capable of working independently within a collaborative team environment.
What You'll Do12
- 1Collect and transport glassware following contamination control procedures
- 2Operate washers dry heat sterilizers and ultrasonic baths
- 3Prepare items for sanitization using defined steps
- 4Inspect processed glassware for cleanliness and defects
- 5Maintain temperature charts and equipment logs per GDP
- 6Perform routine equipment checks and maintenance tasks
- 7Monitor inventory levels and alert the Glassware Lead of shortages
- 8Keep processing areas clean and organized
- 9Follow all safety procedures and report concerns
- 10Complete required training promptly and maintain compliance
- 11Mentor new team members and collaborate on process improvements
- 12Support other laboratory functions as needed
Requirements8
- 1Associate’s degree in scientific or technical field or high school diploma with 2+ years lab experience
- 2Prior glass wash or lab support experience preferred
- 3Familiarity with autoclaves or glassware washers
- 4Ability to lift 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally
- 5Good vision including close-range detail and color perception
- 6Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- 7Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent movement between labs
- 8Commitment to safety protocols and hazard awareness
