Overview

This role owns labware processing and media prep for a research lab at 1 DNA Way. You'll run autoclaves, washers, and ovens to keep glassware sterile and ready. You'll prepare microbiological and cell culture media per SOPs, track inventory, and document every step under GMP/GLP and ALCOA. This contract position offers weekly pay and benefits with potential to extend or go permanent.

What You'll Do10

  • 1Operate autoclaves and washers to sterilize glassware and equipment.
  • 2Inspect, sort, and prepare labware to meet cleanliness and sterility standards.
  • 3Prepare microbiological and cell culture media following SOPs.
  • 4Label, aliquot, and store buffers, reagents, and stock solutions per protocols.
  • 5Monitor reagent inventory and expiration dates to prevent supply gaps.
  • 6Complete batch records and logs following ALCOA principles for audits.
  • 7Maintain lab supply stock and coordinate restocking with the team.
  • 8Receive and organize incoming materials, checking temperature and hazard storage.
  • 9Support biohazard and chemical waste disposal per safety guidelines.
  • 10Train new technicians on lab processes and safety procedures.

Requirements7

  • 1High school diploma or GED required; college coursework in biology or chemistry required, AA/AS preferred.
  • 21+ year of lab experience in academic, biotech, or regulated environment preferred.
  • 3Hands-on experience with autoclaves, sterilization, and lab equipment.
  • 4Knowledge of aseptic technique and contamination control.
  • 5Familiarity with media and buffer preparation workflows.
  • 6Basic computer skills for data entry and inventory tracking.
  • 7Ability to lift 40 lbs and stand or move for extended periods.
