Overview
Own gifted education instruction for grades 4-6 in Mathematics and Language Arts at Paradise Valley High School in a 0.33 FTE interim role. Collaborate with the Director of Gifted Education and school staff to address instructional needs and student progress. Lead nomination and testing processes, facilitate monthly gifted cluster meetings, and provide staff development related to gifted education. Bring data-driven assessment practices and engage families to support student outcomes and program effectiveness.
What You'll Do10
- 1Lead instruction for gifted students in Mathematics and Language Arts in grades 4-6.
- 2Oversee nomination and testing for gifted services at the school level.
- 3Preside over monthly gifted cluster teacher meetings and deliver staff development.
- 4Gather data for program evaluation and administer subject assessments for student competency.
- 5Collaborate with teachers, administrators, parents, and community resources to improve student outcomes.
- 6Counsel students and communicate progress to parents and guardians.
- 7Differentiate classroom work to address individualized learning needs.
- 8Monitor and manage student behavior to maintain a safe learning environment.
- 9Participate in PLC teams and district meetings to align practices and data
- 10Respond to emergencies and health or safety issues as needed.
Requirements7
- 1Minimum two years experience teaching gifted students (pull-out, cluster, or self-contained)
- 2Bachelor's degree in a job-related area
- 3Arizona Teacher Certificate
- 4Arizona Gifted Endorsement
- 5SEI Endorsement
- 6Criminal Background Clearance
- 7Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
