Overview
Gastroenterologist (MD/DO) joins a large multispecialty group in the Bronx, providing outpatient GI care to a diverse patient population. The role spans diagnosing and treating GERD, IBD, liver disease, and performing EGD and colonoscopy procedures. Collaborate with a team of 140+ physicians and 100+ advanced practice providers across all five NYC boroughs. Flexible part-time or full-time schedules, with robust support and a strong referral base.
What You'll Do10
- 1Diagnose and treat GERD, IBS, IBD, liver disease, and colorectal disorders in an outpatient setting.
- 2Perform comprehensive patient evaluations including history, physical exams, and diagnostic assessments.
- 3Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as endoscopy, colonoscopy, imaging, and lab studies.
- 4Execute endoscopic procedures including EGD and colonoscopy with precision.
- 5Develop individualized treatment plans for acute and chronic GI conditions, adjusting as needed.
- 6Monitor patient progress and modify care plans to ensure optimal outcomes.
- 7Collaborate with primary care providers, surgeons, and specialists for integrated care.
- 8Coordinate referrals and follow-ups for advanced GI care, ensuring seamless patient transitions.
- 9Educate patients on digestive health, preventive screenings (e.g., colorectal cancer screening), and lifestyle modifications.
- 10Maintain accurate, timely documentation in EMR/EHR systems and comply with clinical protocols.
Requirements6
- 1MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
- 2Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology.
- 3Active or eligible for New York State medical license.
- 4Experience in outpatient GI and endoscopic procedures preferred; new graduates considered.
- 5Strong procedural skills in EGD and colonoscopy.
- 6Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
