Overview
You own residential garage door service and repair across the DFW area. You'll handle springs, openers, cables, and full door installations, with 5+ years field experience and your own truck. You join a small team of 6 techs, each running 10-15 jobs per week. Your work keeps a 5-star rated company at the top of local search.
What You'll Do8
- 1Diagnose and repair broken springs, cables, rollers, and panels on residential doors, using LiftMaster and Genie openers.
- 2Install new garage doors and openers, including CHI and Clopay models, ensuring proper balance and safety sensor alignment.
- 3Maintain a daily schedule of 8-10 stops, calling customers 30 minutes ahead and logging job details in ServiceTitan.
- 4Invoice customers on-site via mobile app, collecting payment and explaining warranty terms on parts and labor.
- 5Inspect tracks, hinges, and weather seals during each service call, replacing worn components before they cause failures.
- 6Communicate with dispatchers on inventory needs, restocking truck with common springs and sensors each morning.
- 7Drive a company-issued truck (or your own approved vehicle) between jobs in Dallas and surrounding suburbs, covering 100-150 miles daily.
- 8Follow safety protocols for high-tension spring work, using winding bars and clamps per DASMA guidelines.
Requirements8
- 13-5 years residential garage door repair experience, including torsion and extension spring replacement.
- 2Valid driver's license and clean driving record, with your own reliable truck or van capable of carrying ladders and door panels.
- 3Proficiency with LiftMaster, Genie, and Chamberlain opener wiring and code programming.
- 4Experience installing steel and aluminum doors from Clopay, CHI, or Amarr.
- 5Own hand tools: cordless drill, wrenches, pliers, and spring winding bars.
- 6Ability to lift 75+ lbs and work on ladders up to 12 feet.
- 7Weekend availability (Saturday required, Sunday optional) and flexibility for on-call emergency slots.
- 8Clean background check and two professional references from recent employers.
